Ms. Annette Yvonne Allen
A Loving Sister, Aunt, and Friend
My Sister… My Baby… I am missing you already, but I know one day we will be together again. I want to tell you her story…Annette was born on November 22, 1943 in San Antonio, Texas to Josie Mae Allen. She was raised by our mother until she was 15 years old and went to live with our Grandmother, Willie Pearl. Most people didn’t know her because she stayed to herself and minded her own business. There were many that knew she was a member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, but would later stop attending in her late 20’s.
But everyone from Kingsville to Clarkcrest loved her and especially her good neighbors the Felder & Gordons. She would speak when she wanted to but when she didn’t, she would walk past you without parting her lips. But, she loved children and would diaper, feed, and kept a many of babies and kids including her nieces, nephews and cousins. She played jacks with the neighbor’s children and would let them color in her coloring books. She could put together 1000 piece puzzles and crochet beautifully while watching TV. We went through some bad times, but thanks to God the good times won and brought us through! I thank the Lord for putting you in our lives. You taught us so much. You take your rest but know that you are loved by your Brother, James and Sister, Janice and all of your many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends!
